Ford Returns to Le Mans 24 Race with Four GT Race Cars

In 1966, Ford entered a few GT 40 Mk.11 racecars to compete in the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans. The result was an unprecedented 1-2-3 podium sweep, as cars from the likes of Ferrari and Porsche were left to wonder what happened.

This summer marks the 50th anniversary of that historic accomplishment, and on June 18, Ford will return to the classic endurance race to once again do battle with the grand touring establishment. Are you a crafter or artisan? Have you ever considered selling the house or renting it out for part of the year, and touring the country in a RV, selling crafts or artwork in cities around the country? Many full-time crafters and artisans do this, finding it more cost-effective than renting rooms on the road.

We thought of this when we learned recently of the Winnebago Fuse, a C Class motorhome built on a Ford Transit chassis. Imagine living full-time on the road in this?

#ThrowbackThursday: GT Returns to Le Mans

For this edition of Throwback Thursday, we're bringing you a video posted a few months ago to Ford Performance's YouTube account. The video served as an announced of an important and exciting upcoming event, so this is both an #ICYMI post, and a #TBT post.

Back in 1966, Ford shocked the world when the GT40 Mk.II took first, second, and third place, in the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race. It defeated heavily favored brands like Porsche, and six-in-a-row winner, Ferrari. It was an unprecedented result that Ford is hoping to duplicate in 2016, on the…
