For this edition of Throwback Thursday, we're bringing you a video posted a few months ago to Ford Performance's YouTube account. The video served as an announced of an important and exciting upcoming event, so this is both an #ICYMI post, and a #TBT post.
Back in 1966, Ford shocked the world when the GT40 Mk.II took first, second, and third place, in the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race. It defeated heavily favored brands like Porsche, and six-in-a-row winner, Ferrari. It was an unprecedented result that Ford is hoping to duplicate in 2016, on the 50th anniversary of that historic sweep. In an effort to garner excitement for the news, Ford released the following video:
