When it's time to start seeking out the right crossover, it helps to learn what it offers and, most importantly, what it can do. At Richmond Ford West, we've helped plenty of our friends in Glen Allen, Ashland, and Short Pump learn all about the 2018 Ford EcoSport. This new addition to the Ford family brings a lot to the table in terms of efficiency and space, but what about the Ford EcoSport towing capacity?
We're going to dive in a little further to show you what you can expect with this new crossover!
2018 EcoSport Towing Capacity
- The 1.0L EcoBoost® 3-cylinder engine allows the Ford EcoSport to tow 1,400 pounds of materials.
- The optional 2.0L 4-cylinder engine pushes the abilities further, maxing out the 2018 Ford EcoSport towing capacity to 2,000 pounds.
Ford EcoSport Engine Specs & Options
The EcoSport comes standard with a 1.0L EcoBoost 3-cylinder engine, which delivers a unique mix of power and efficiency. Drivers looking for more of a push with the performance can easily equip the 2.0L 4-cylinder engine. Both engines come mated with the 6-speed SelectShift® Automatic Transmission.
- The 1.0L EcoBoost® 3-cylinder engine delivers 123 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque.
- The 1.0L engine gets an EPA-estimated 27/29 MPG city/highway.
- The 2.0L 4-cylinder engine can produce 166 horsepower and 149 lb-ft of torque.
- The 2.0L engine achieves an EPA-estimated 23/29 MPG city/highway.
Cabin Passenger & Cargo Space
This efficient crossover offers plenty of space for you and your passengers over two rows of seating. Passengers in the front row get 39.6 inches of headroom and 42.9 inches of legroom. Riders in the rear seats get 37.5 inches of headroom and 36.7 inches of legroom.
With all the seats in place, the Ford EcoSport offers 20.9 cubic feet of space for your cargo and materials. Folding the rear seats down opens up the back of the EcoSport and expands the total cargo area to 50 cubic feet, more than doubling the vehicle's cargo capacity. Luckily, the Ford EcoSport can include rails and crossbars on the roof to help you bring more cargo on the road without sacrificing passenger space.
