Maintaining Your Ford Flex
You don't have to be a mechanic or technician to know that your vehicle needs some service, adjustments, and fluid top-offs over the years. However, you'll get the most out of your vehicle if you know when to have these services conducted. Your Ford Flex maintenance schedule will list several mileage intervals that correlate with a list of services. When you reach these mileages, you'll want to have these services performed. Luckily, a lot of these services get repeated, so keep an eye out on your odometer.Â
Maintenance Schedule for the Ford Flex
- 10,000 Miles: This service interval includes a multi-point inspection of numerous systems and components including your cooling system, exhaust system, transmission fluid, braking system, suspension joints, and steering linkage. This visit also includes the oil change and the oil filter replacement.
- 20,000 Miles: When you hit 20,000 miles, you'll need to have the previously listed services repeated, along with a replacement of your cabin air filter.
- 30,000 Miles: This service appointment includes mostly repeated services and inspections; however, you'll add an engine air filter replacement to the list.
- 100,000 Miles: This is a big interval. After you've had a variety of services repeated for about 70,000 miles, you'll now add some new ones to the list. This includes replacing your platinum spark plugs, changing the orange coolant in your Ford Flex, and inspecting your accessory drive belt(s).
- 150,000 Miles: If you've made it to 150,000 miles, it means that you've taken great care of your Ford Flex and had it serviced at the right times! This interval includes some significant services that can help you get even more out of your Flex. During this interval, you'll need to change your automatic transmission fluid, have your orange coolant changed, and you'll need to have your accessory drive belt(s) replaced if you haven't already.
