You may be familiar with the Ford Expedition for its towing capabilities, spacious interior, and heralded reliability. All of those factors help the SUV attract families around Glen Allen, Ashland, and Rockville, Virginia. There are certainly other aspects to be considered when looking for your preferred model, though, which is why we've developed a Ford Expedition technology package review.
The impact of technology on the automotive market is growing each year. So, at Richmond Ford West, we wanted to help our friends in nearby communities learn how the Expedition is putting this technology to good use!
Driver-Assistance Safety Technology
One of the ways the 2020 Ford Expedition is using technology is to help keep you safe while traveling on the highway or around town. The many unique driver-assistance features this SUV provides come in a standard package called Ford Co-Pilot360™ technology.
Here's a quick rundown of the driver-assistance features that are found in this package:
- Auto High-Beam Headlamps
- BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert
- Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking
- Lane-Keeping System
- Rear View Camera
Much of what these systems are used for is to alert you of potential obstacles while you're driving.
For example, Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking will provide an audible and visual warning if a front-facing collision seems likely. If you fail to respond, the SUV will automatically apply the brakes to mitigate the impact of the collision.
Ford Expedition Connectivity Technology
Ideally, Ford wants to keep you connected to what matters most in your life, even as you're driving. With the Ford Expedition, it's easy to stay in touch with other people, entertainment, and much more.
It starts with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration. These systems link your smartphone to the car. Once linked, you can use the touchscreen on the dashboard of your Expedition to access applications that exist on your phone. So, playing music, pulling up directions to a nearby gas station, or making a phone call is simple.
Additionally, with FordPass Connect™ and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, you can link up to 10 devices to the Wi-Fi in the SUV. Plus, the hotspot for your Expedition can be connected to as far away as 50 feet from the model!
Entertainment Technology for Long Trips
Many look to the Ford Expedition as an ideal family hauler. That reputation was founded on traits like safety yet is reinforced by the modern technology Ford uses to make the SUV family friendly.
The Dual-Headrest Rear Seat Entertainment System is a perfect example. The setup places two screens into the rear headrests of the first-row seats. While on the go, your kids can watch DVDs, plug in a gaming station, or stream videos and applications from their smartphones!
