The Ford Edge has already solidified itself as a reliable, appealing option for many near the communities of Glen Allen, Ashland, and Rockville, Virginia. Ford certainly isn't resting on its laurels, though. As our 2021 Ford Edge review shows, the SUV receives some upticks in technology, safety, and overall connectivity. If you want some fun behind the wheel, too, the athletic Ford Edge ST trim is still available.

With all the questions we've gotten about the Edge at Richmond Ford West, we thought this review would be a handy, easy introduction to the 2021 SUV!

In-Cabin Technology

For a few years now, Ford has made it easy to link your smartphone to the touchscreen display in your vehicle.

Whether it's the native infotainment interface or integration systems like Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, past Edge drivers have had an easy time staying connected. Future drivers of the 2021 Edge will enjoy similarly straightforward technology.

The previous SYNC® 3 interface is out, making way for the improved SYNC® 4 interface. SYNC® is standard on all trims, delivering crisp and responsive movements as you transition from menu to menu. The touchscreen itself is equally impressive, measuring 12 inches in size and coming standard throughout the trim lineup.

In addition to those Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration systems-which give you the ability to access smartphone applications on your Edge's touchscreen-you'll also benefit from further connectivity measures like SYNC AppLink®.

Ford Edge ST and ST-Line

Your 2021 Ford Edge can be optioned to look sporty (if you merely want a sharper design) or it can be given some hardcore athleticism, thanks to a re-tuned engine and various performance bits.

If it's just the aesthetics you're after, you can choose the ST-Line trim, which outfits your SUV with a few of the following features:

  • ST-style grille
  • Black ST beltline molding with lower sport cladding
  • Signature LED lighting
  • 20-inch gloss black aluminum wheels and unique Edge ST-Line badging

The alternative to the ST-Line would be the ST trim, which introduces a range of performance-enhancing features. The ST has deft handling, plenty of giddy-up from a standstill, and sharp gear shifts courtesy of a 7-speed automatic transmission.

The engine of the ST is a 2.7L EcoBoost® tuned to produced 335 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to the hard work of the Ford Performance technicians, the Edge ST delivers sharp handling and comes with these features:

  • Selectable traction control
  • ST Performance Brake Package
  • ST-tuned sport suspension and steering

Your 2021 Ford Edge Awaits

The Ford Edge delivers on pretty much any type of need, from being a reliable family hauler to an athletic, sporty commuter. The best way to familiarize yourself with the SUV is at Richmond Ford West.
