Spacious, athletic, and stylish are just a few words you'll typically hear thrown around when the Ford Explorer is discussed. This model has made a name for itself in Glen Allen, Ashland, and Short Pump, too. With that in mind, Richmond Ford West decided to put together a 2019 Ford Explorer review to help prepare drivers for this appealing SUV.

As you continue to read through this article, you'll get a better feel for specific features, such as performance, interior space, and infotainment technology!

2019 Ford Explorer Specs

The 2019 Ford Explorer presents a couple of different options underneath the hood of its various trim levels. Each of the three motors available has a unique, distinct performance style.

First up is the 2.3L EcoBoost® engine, which can generate 280 horsepower to go along with 310 lb-ft of torque. This option also features an available Class II Trailer Tow Package in case you're thinking about hauling that trailer up to the campgrounds for a long weekend.

Next up, we have the 3.5L V6 engine that can generate 290 horsepower and 255 lb-ft of torque. What makes this motor unique is its variable control of valve cam timing, which helps the SUV adjust performance to better match driving conditions.

Lastly, there's the 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 that produces a hearty 365 horsepower to go along with 350 lb-ft of torque. Plus, this engine features a Terrain Management System™, so you can better tackle any on-road or off-road conditions.

Infotainment Technology

The 2019 Ford Explorer thrives when it comes to infotainment technology. Not only will it keep you entertained, but it'll also help you stay connected to the outside world.

This is thanks in large part to FordPass™, which is an easily accessible app. Once you've gotten your FordPass™ setup, you can lock, unlock, and start your vehicle remotely; pay for automotive services; receive vehicle information as well as service reminders and compare fuel prices at nearby gas stations. Plus, you can find, reserve, and pay for parking ahead of time!

2019 Ford Explorer Interior

If your family is growing quickly, you can rely on the Ford Explorer to provide you with ample interior passenger and cargo space.

The PowerFold® third-row seating is a nifty perk, and it also gives you unique versatility to structure the cabin however you see fit. For example, if you leave both the second- and third-row seats standing, there's 21 cubic feet of cargo volume. Fold the third-row seats down, however, and that number grows to 43.9 cubic feet. Finally, you can fold both the second-row and third-row seats down to utilize a maximum of 81.7 cubic feet of cargo space.

Additionally, the Ford Explorer has front seats with Active Motion® for superior comfort.
