Widened Horizons For More Efficient Vehicles

Ford also aims to offer these green models in emerging and growing markets, such as Taiwan, Korea, and China, in an effort to promote efficiency on a broader scale. Similarly, the automaker’s battery development efforts will be expanding into Europe and Asia, as well.
A large part of that investment, of course, will be put into action right in Ford’s backyard. The automaker has plans to invest $2.1 million into the development of a battery lab at the University of Michigan. This will help to boost research and development for electric vehicles.
As early as next year, the company will also begin production of the new Focus Electric. The new model will employ a range of upgraded features, including SmartGauge with EcoGuide LCD Instrument Cluster and Brake Coach. This will usher in a new age of electric vehicles for American and European drivers to enjoy.
