Community involvement is so important to us, and for good reason! We wouldn't be anything without our community and the customers in it, so when a great cause comes along we do our best get behind it. Many organizations have been staples at our stores, St. Jude's, Susan G. Komen, Mother's Against Drunk Driving, and many more. These organizations have a common interest, they take on the challenges that impact the lives of our families, friends, and neighbors. This year we are excited to announce the addition of The Alzheimer's Association! We'll be the presenting sponsor of the Richmond, VA Walk to End Alzheimer's.
This cause, like many others that we are involved in, strikes a chord in our hearts. Both owners, Ron and Jeanine Kody, have lost parents who suffered from Alzheimer's, most recently Ron's mother in February of 2015.
"Alzheimer's better be scared, because we're coming after it. I want to make sure we do our part to get the word out about this disease and the help that is available for families, patients, and caregivers through the Alzheimer's association. " said Jeanine Kody
Jeanine and Ron are not alone in their experience with this terrible disease, the below statistics from the Alzheimer's Association for 2015 are staggering.
