Fuel-efficient SUVs are becoming more popular as drivers seek to make their daily lives a little greener. Ford knows this, and that's why many of its vehicles now come with hybrid options, like the 2022 Ford Escape.

Richmond Ford West is here to introduce the Ford Escape Hybrid to our friends around Glen Allen, Ashland, and Rockville, Virginia. Take a look below!

Ford Escape Hybrid Performance

The 2022 Ford Escape is a versatile SUV with two hybrid options: a plug-in and non-plug-in version. The plug-in option charges and combines electric and hybrid technology. The non-plug-in version uses a bit of gas but lets you go far. Both are great green options.

Both hybrid engines hit at least 200 total system horsepower (the plug-in hybrid delivers 221 total system horsepower). They also each use an eCVT (electronically controlled continuously variable transmission). The non-plug-in hybrid has an EPA-estimated 44 city/37 highway MPG, while the plug-in version has a 105 combined MPGe.

The Escape also gives you the option to customize your ride, depending on your environment. Choose between the following drive modes to change things up:

  • Eco
  • Sport
  • Normal
  • Slippery
  • Deep Snow/Sand

Ford Escape Hybrid Convenience Features

The 2022 Escape Hybrid is an SUV with flexibility that can help make your daily routines easier. For those who need a lot of cargo room, they'll be thrilled with the vehicle's maximum cargo space of 102.2 cubic feet. The second-row 60/40 split-fold down seats with sliding feature make it easier to adjust the interior to fit whatever you need.

The available hands-free, foot-activated liftgate means you don't have to put anything down or pull anything out to open the liftgate. Just swipe your foot under the bumper.

Not a fan of parallel parking? The available Active Park Assist 2.0 feature can help. All you have to do is:

  • Brake.
  • Shift into Neutral.
  • Hold down the Active Park Assist button.
  • Let your Escape park itself!

Ford Escape Hybrid Trim Levels

While the Ford Escape has many different trim levels, three have hybrids. Each of these three trims gives you the option of the plug-in hybrid or the non-plug-in hybrid. The trims are:

  • SE
  • SEL
  • Titanium

The SE trim is technically the second trim level for the Escape, but the first that gives you hybrid options. With this trim, you'll get a standard SYNC® 3 infotainment system that allows you to stream music, make calls, and use other smartphone apps with your Ford.

The next trim level is the SEL. A power liftgate comes standard with this trim, making it easier to open your trunk. Heated sideview mirrors also keep your view free and unobstructed, even in the winter.

The highest trim level is the Titanium. With this trim, you can opt for a Head-Up Display, which allows you to see important vehicle information right on your windshield. You can also opt for leather-trimmed seats for an extra hit of luxury.
